Outreach to Europe

Hey folks, I can’t believe it is nearly Christmas the Counseling school I am doing has gone by so fast in just under three weeks we are heading on outreach to start to teach and put into practice what we have learnt. In so many things I feel like I am only just starting to see them incorporated into my life. However I know that God has so much for us during the outreach.   So there is a team from our school along with a team of professionals from the local church going to Haiti and then our team will be going to el Salvador and Guatemala.   However the team that I am going on will be coming to Europe, around the 3rd January we will be coming to England and spending two weeks in London and from there on 15th January we will be flying to Latvia where we will be working in prisons and rehabilitation centres for two weeks, then to Italy where we will be for a month working with the local churches.  There are 5 students in our team who are Me, Jessica (Argentina) Mirtha (Peru) Alejandra (Co

Summer Mayhem

I can't believe that the summer is more or less over and that in just over a week I will be jetting off to South America on the other side of the world. For most of the summer I was working in a theatre which was fun at times and it was different to be in a 9-5 job again well not quite I worked in the evenings a lot. I managed to fit 5 years of visits into less than three months.  Thanks to the change over scenes at the theatre I was able to take a few trips in five days I did Taunton, Torquay and Plymouth and saw people I hadn't seen in an age. As I write this I am on my last set of visits to people I haven't seen in perhaps five years. Probably the most memorable event from the summer would be BONES which I didn't think I was going to be as involved in but once I met all the great people who God sent along to be part of the team via in the internet (they found out about bones online.) I couldn't not be around. So as I was working full time I would go before wor

Thought of the moment! God speaking out of the box!

So how does God speak to us and how does he intervene into our lives each day.  If we began to see Jesus walking through our days we would realise we have even more to worship him about than we presently do. I truly believe that we can see Jesus walking through the situations of the day big and small if we fail to do this I believe we miss some key lessons and things he wants to say to us and wants to do in our lives. If we limit God speaking to our quiet times or to someone giving us a prophecy or a chat with someone with them saying what I am saying is from the Lord.  I believe God speaks outside of this, he speaks outside our box.  Dare I say it but he can speak through non believers.  Throughout the day we probably have many conversations with dozens of people some of them are believers some are not. In these conversations the name of Jesus is probably not even mentioned but even at these times God can be speaking. What about when you have an argument with someone our tendency

Some recent stories!!

So as you may have seen in other newsletters or Blogs I am off to Argentina in September to do the counselling school.  People would keep asking me so when are you booking your flight and I would say I don't know I don't have the money and can't see how I am going to get it!! God had already come up with a plan which would completely take me by surprise. Back at the beginning of the year when I knew I would be heading to Argentina in September I decided to start doing my part which was to bake a few banana cakes and sell them to the DTS Students. I thought well I'm not going to earn huge amounts but I can do my part this was just the beginning.......... As I told people about my future plans they started to give me small amounts of money in pennies for example  although one of those bags of coppers added up to £40 and then another bag amounted to £20.  This was so encouraging and great to know that so many people are with me and so supportive the most amazing bit was y

Face painting at community day

I was invited to do some face painting at a community day with a local church not far from where I live! Painting faces is a little different to painting canvas, I had to remember that at times and not spend all day painting one kid!!

New beginnings at Spring- time   Moving again!!!!    It seems I am always packing my stuff up and moving, during this last period of time I have been in Britain I think I have moved 5 times and this most recent move is my sixth time that is move a year although sometimes they are more frequent.  After living in community and with the DTS for only six months I have moved to my best friends flat so it really is a blessing.  I have my own room again and it is really nice to have a bit more space than usual.  However I won't be here for too long as I am planning to move on yet again but this next one is rather a big one....... New Adventures     You all know that I love to travel and I love to go on adventures and God is taking me on a big one.  This may seems as something that is coming out of the blue for many of you but I have had many confirmations since I decided.  You may remember that the way I ended up back in Britain was by coming on outreach with the Arts Team.  When I

Twilight

The other night I did something I would never do I watched Twilight I had been really avoiding it for quite a while.  The truth is I thought it was kind of a horror movie.  It was on in my living room and we were having a girly night in so I decided to stick it out see whether I could stomach it.  I realised that there wasn't going to be any horror that I was extremely relieved.  However the camera work creates a very horror type feeling.  Everything is tinted blue and all the faces are grey like what you get in real horror movies.  The story was quite cripping and I was getting into it.  I started to understand why this phenomena has swept the nation particularly the girls well at least the ones that I have come across.  I could feel myself being drawn into the film what was so enticing.  I woke up the next morning feeling traumatized and quite empty and I asked what was going on why had this movie got under my skin.  I was asking God about it as you do, I was annoyed with myself
